Credential recognition application (Approbation)
Apply to the regional authority (Regierungsprasidium) for recognition of your medical degree. They assess equivalency with German medical training.
Fachsprachprufung (Medical German language exam)
Oral exam testing your ability to communicate medically in German. Covers patient history-taking, colleague communication, and medical documentation.
Kenntnisprufung (Knowledge exam) or Gleichwertigkeitsprufung
Clinical knowledge exam if your degree is not deemed fully equivalent. Practical clinical exam at a German hospital. Alternatively, direct Approbation if deemed equivalent.
Approbation (full medical licence)
